Update from Cheryl

I am currently uploading more pictures and adding the finishing touches to my blog. I was not able to make it the last museum on my tentative schedule, the Guggenheim in New York, but I did visit all of the others for a total of five museums and in one case, I went to the same museum twice. I have really enjoyed this experience. I was most impressed with the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. I have invited a few friends and my entire immediate family to a trip to New York this summer just to visit this fantastic museum. I hope all of you enjoyed this class as much as I did. Museum 6: The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum

Well class...here's my final post, The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum. I have been pleasantly suprised with the last couple of art museums I've visited. Jerry, I got off to a late start, but this class was a great experience! I don't that I would have gone to Ridgefield had it not been for this class! Thanks, and enjoy your holiday.

Museum 5: New Britain Museum of American Art

I have uploaded my paper for the New Britain Museum of American Art. I absolutely LOVED this museum. It was totally worth the drive! I was not excited about this museum as I thought I didn't like American art. To my surprise, this was my favorite museum to date, and I was disappointed when I had finished going touring the museum. I will certainly be going back!

Final Week!

Hello everyone...

Time has flown by and we now find ourselves in the final week of class... The registrar's office will be looking for grades from me by Friday at the latest....  As a reminder, I'll be looking for 4 papers and 2 photo essays with captions.... The papers should be illustrated with th work you are discussing as well as some general shots of the museum, etc.

Hope you enjoyed having the freedom this class offers and have developed a great habit to keep doing long after the class has ended....

To date, I have visited every museum on my tentative schedule. Please check out my blog (Cheryl's Blog) to view photos and to see my written reports. I must say that if you have never been to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, you're missing a treat. I was totally blown away. Although admission is posted as $20, there is no admission charge but donations are asked. I paid $5 and got in. The museum is massive. It spans 4 city blocks long and 2 blocks wide. I took as many pictures as I could before my battery expired. I will definitely be making another trip there during the summer.
